Overview:

We are currently searching for an Administrative Assistant to join our Business Affairs Department.  The position supports two executives and requires frequent interaction with all staff levels throughout our organization.   

 

This is an ideal entry level position for someone interested in joining a fast paced and dynamic team within the music industry.   

Previous experience and interest in a legal environment is preferred because this position works extensively with agreements and standard knowledge of legal terminology would be helpful.



Responsibilities:

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Vice President and Senior Director of Business and Legal Affairs and Senior Vice President of A&R Administration. 

 

The Administrative Assistant's responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to: 

  • Answering phones, taking messages, managing calendars, organizing meetings, scheduling conference calls and processing expense reports.
  • Facilitating payment requests, handling all AFTRA union submissions and picking up department checks daily
  • Assisting attorneys with drafting, editing, and proofreading contracts, correspondence and memoranda
  • Maintaining extensive Business & Legal Affairs filing system by preparing documents for scanning and distributing them to records management.
  • Redlining documents, preparing agreements for execution and creating deal binders
  • Answering basic Business Affairs inquiries from internal and external parties
  • Updating and circulating the RCA artist roster each month
  • Conducting research and completing ad hoc projects


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Minimum of (1) year of previous work or internship experience, ideally in a legal capacity
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Previous experience within the music or entertainment industry is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with contracts and various intellectual property matters preferred
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive content
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task , problem solve and work well under pressure
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of the music industry, entertainment law and/or intellectual property
