We are seeking a Financial Trainee to join our Financial Rotation Program. The role provides essential background to various financial functions of a Music company and covers wide range of areas including royalties processing and accounting, global financial reporting, digital finance and analysis, Label level financial experience and international financial exposure.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

The Financial Trainee’s responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:

 

  • Preparation, review and analysis of artist level royalty statements
  • Royalty accounting and support for artist level royalty audits
  • Analysis of market movement and market share data
  • Creating reports and analysis from the global financial reporting system, SAP/BPC
  • Sales analysis using Sony Music’s sales reporting and forecasting system, USF/SAMIS
  • Compiling, analysis and critical review of data
  • Assistance with a wide range of other projects – including preparation of various analytics and communication with US & international finance teams as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated passion for the industry
  • Proven success through prior accomplishments
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and potential
  • Exhibits business acumen
  • Candidates must be graduating in May 2018 or before

Rotation Criteria

  • 2 year rotational program including 6 rotations
  • First year will include three rotations based in Rutherford, NJ
  • Second year will include three rotations. Two rotations will be based in NYC with one rotation potentially outside NYC, including abroad
  • Once rotations are successfully completed the Trainee will be strongly considered for permanent financial positions
