The Royalty Analyst is responsible for handling a wide spectrum of tasks that encompass all aspects of royalty statements/payments to publishers and music unions.


The Royalty Analyst’s responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:

  • Render monthly/quarterly publisher statements which consists of reviewing publisher accounts, advances, earnings, payee information, executing reports, preparing wires and maintaining printing preferences.
  • Review/analyze/process statement adjustments related to earnings, out of cycle payments, vendor to account balance transfers and publisher refunds.
  • Assist manager with unrecouped balance analysis at account, song and performance level to assess risk.
  • Research, resolve and respond to publisher inquiries.
  • Prepare and research comparative publisher payment analysis to understand fluctuations with payments.
  • Work with IS&T to test system upgrades, identify problems, and recommend/test solutions.
  • Prepare monthly union expense reconciliations and analysis for select labels.
  • Compile expected payment analysis for various union payments based upon sales trends.
  • Reconcile copyright cash forecast to actual payments and explain deviations.
  • Assist Royalty Accounting with ad hoc analysis/reporting during month end close of books.


Education and/or Experience:                                      


  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration
  • 1-3 years’ experience
  • Strong proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • SAP, EROS, and Access experience a plus
  • Prior experience in music/media industries a plus
