The Orchard is hiring an Associate User Experience Reseacher to join our NYC (East Village) product design team.

Responsibilities

As a User Experience Researcher at The Orchard, you will help the product design team understand what experiences for our labels are intuitive and accessible, creating a best-in-class experience.  You will dig into what our customers need from our products by exploring their behaviors and motivations while working with Product Designers, Product Managers and Engineers to inform the development of key features through research.

You will be involved in all stages of the product development, delivering oral, written and visual presentations about our research findings, as well as contribute to identification of product and user requirements.

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research, leveraging diverse methodologies such as usability tests, interviews, card sorting activities, surveys, observational studies, and analytics data
  • Partner with product designers to inform and evaluate UX decisions
  • Synthesize research into actionable takeaways applied to product goals and business objectives
  • Work alongside product teams to incorporate research needs into project planning
  • Take part in the planning, recruiting and scheduling of research studies
  • Monitor and regularly report on usage behavior of multiple web properties
  • Share and present user research findings with internal teams and stakeholders
  • Participate in regular design reviews and other team-wide design efforts
  • Generate insights that both fuel ideation and evaluate designs

Qualifications

  • Case studies demonstrating strong critical-thinking skills in the research process
  • Experience conducting, analyzing and reporting on both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics
  • You take a thoughtful approach to conducting and analyzing research in a purposeful manner
  • Demonstrated communication
  • You are organized and meticulous in analyzing data
  • You are an empathetic thinker with strong communication and storytelling skills
  • You are a curious question-asker with an investigative thirst for learning
