    Columbia Records is seeking an Associate Developer to work under the label’s Insights & Analytics team.  This individual will apply computer programming and database management skills to support to the label’s A&R, Finance, Marketing, and Promotion departments by developing and maintaining internal tools (web-based and other formats) to analyze signed and unsigned artists.

    Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain internal tools that help the team collect and evaluate data related to new musical opportunities, current recordings and the impact of various campaigns.
    • Aggregate and centralize music related data and analytics into one place.
    • Present data in a useful form to aid decision-making.
    • Provide access to and understanding of new data and metrics.
    • Efficiently sort through millions of data points to identify interesting trends and patterns.

    Qualifications

    • Excellent Python skills (3+ years of experience preferred).
    • Solid database skills in a relational database (i.e. PostgresSQL, MySQL, etc).
    • Proficient on version control tools such as git, svn etc.
    • Experience with data modeling and forecasting is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of Python web frameworks (e.g. Django) and knowledge of building RESTful API’s preferred.
    • Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment is a plus.
    • Experience with data visualization and presentation is a plus.
    • Must be able to quickly learn and apply new concepts, principles and solutions.
    • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task.
    • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
