    Sony Music Entertainment is undergoing a huge transformation driven by Data, Analytics, and Cognitive technologies. We have created a new team, lead by our CDO, focused on advancing Sony Music’s data strategy & capabilities around the world.


    Using data-centric strategies, with design and technology principles in mind, we are developing products, tools, apps, and more that deliver actionable insights that help shape strategic thinking and drive business solutions for our labels. The teams goals are to:

    • Provide business intelligence and technology solutions for use across the company’s labels and business units
    • Create predictive tools and analytics platforms to enhance Sony Music’s capabilities in artist and partner discovery, solutions, commercial strategy, marketing, and A&R
    • Enhance service to Sony Music’s artists and business partners
    • Grow commercial opportunities

    The Product Designer will join the newly created Data Strategy team and will report to the EVP of Data Strategy, Chief Data Officer. This role will explore and build products using the latest and greatest in Data Analytics, Cognitive Services, Machine Learning and more. This role is based at Sony Music’s offices in New York.

    • Work across product, engineering and design teams to design and implement simple and intuitive product experiences
    • Employ a user-centric and data-informed approach, incorporating qualitative and quantitative research to validate design decisions
    • Champion ideas across the organization to ensure that we put customers first in our design decisions
    • Contribute to the overall design team vision by improving existing features, identifying new opportunities and and generating innovative solutions



    • 5+ years of product design related experience
    • Design and good eye for aesthetics strongly preferred
    • Able to talk through a design portfolio that exhibits deep design thinking and strong end-to-end design processes
    • Solid understanding and demonstration of visual design principles
    • Experience using design tools (Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator), prototyping tools (InVision, Framer, Principle), and web production tools (HTML/CSS)
    • Experience working on content, data, mobile, and/or SaaS products is a strong plus
