    Sony Music Entertainment is a global leader in audio entertainment that works in partnership with music and podcasting talent to develop and maximize their creative and commercial opportunities. We are seeking a VP, Podcast Revenue Operations for our Podcasting business. As the VP of Podcast Revenue Operations, you will be responsible for establishing, building and scaling the podcast sales process. You will act a key communication link between Finance and Sales in order to establish best practices for billing, reporting, forecasting, and pipeline reporting.


    This is great opportunity for an entrepreneurial candidate to develop Sony Music’s approach to ad-sales and monetization on its podcasts. The candidate will be part Sony Music’s podcast team in New York City and will report to the SVP, Business Development & Operations for Podcasting.

    • Provide leadership / oversee ad operations strategy, pricing, and inventory management
    • Lead, develop and implement ad operations workflows, processes and systems, and oversee day-to-day campaign operations
    • Fill, manage and catalogue ad inventory and delivery for the full network of Sony Music Podcasts
    • Streamline internal processes to ensure maximum monetization of our product offerings
    • Act as the communication link between Finance and Sales in order to establish best practices for billing, reporting, forecasting, and pipeline reporting
    • Accurately forecast revenues and build territory strategies. Own the revenue and inventory forecast model and maintenance
    • Serve as the key sales and operations contact to measurements and attribution partners like including Nielsen, Barometric, and Lucid
    • Advise and oversee the administration of all software applications used by the Sales, AM and Marketing teams (e.g., Salesforce) and ensure utilization, timeliness and accuracy of these systems (e.g., reporting, account-level information, etc.)
    • Assist with talent coordination/communication re: activating campaigns
    • Assist SVP of BD/Ops with evaluating and developing new monetization techniques (e.g., subscription)
    • Lead efforts to problem solve for any sales operational issues quickly and efficiently
    • Inform producers and Sony Music labels of ad-sales performance on individual podcasts and identify opportunities to improve monetization
    • Work with Finance and BI functions to ensure consistent & accurate data across systems, report on key company metrics and ensure specific activities (e.g., commissions) are handled properly
    • Create and manage operational reports and dashboards to monitor team performance


    • At least 7 to 10 years of experience in digital ad sales operations, podcast experience a big plus
    • Clear and proven depth of digital media sales, and podcasts preferably, including effectively using data to generate new deals
    • Proven track record for closing digital media deals and generating new revenue
    • Must be adept in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Undergraduate degree required
    • Familiarity with both agency branding and direct response language and dynamics
